Wow this is a nice looking, small/medium sized hunting, tactical fixed blade knife from Mtech! It arrived a day early, so it was fast to get here. It arrived with a small amount of oil on the blade so it does not rust, also a little plastic baggy and plastic blade tip cover, and the knife in the mtech box shipped inside a padded envelope. I have so many good things to say about this knife! First of all, it just looks cool, like a replica of a WW2 knife, or something like that. Isn't this the style of some of the army knives from back in the day? I think so, I recognize this style from either comics or magazines when I was younger. I just really dug the look of this knife when I saw it here on amazon. It looks even nicer in person! This knife is a medium/small sized fixed blade knife., it is about 10.5 inches long. Handle is about 4.25 inches long, and the rest is the guards and the blade (about 6.25 inches blade length including the guards). I can appreciate the guards in case the knife has to be used to stab or pierce, keeping your hand from sliding onto the blade getting cut. The blade is sharpened on the top part also, although in the picture appears not to be, which is good if you need to use this knife for stabbing or piercing. Also there is a serrated section on that same side of the blade, which may be useful for notching in wood, or something else? That serration is only sharpened on one side, not both sides of that side of the blade. The handle feels hard, it's a black plastic but does not feel like really cheap plastic, it almost feels like a metal handle. How sharp is it? About a 7.5 out of a 10 scale (compared to other knives out of the box). Not quite razor sharp, I tried to shave my arm hair, but no hair or sebum came off. It's sharp enough for my uses but I may sharpen it anyway. I imagine this knife would dull somewhat easily but also sharpen easily, like most mtech knives. I just use a steel on the other one and it sharpens up really quick, this one probably is the same. The knife is fairly well balanced. When you put the knife in the sheath, the sheath is slightly too small and you have to push hard to get the guards below the snap, but it works. These sheaths are not the best, but it's a $10 knife! Sheaths alone go for $10 or more, so taking that into considerations the sheath is excellent! It probably wouldn't last forever but at $10 for the knife , you don't need it to. The sheath has 3 rivets in it and seems to be put together alright no loose threads. The belt loop is big enough for most belts, so that's good! No holes to tie it to your leg, but the knife isn't that long anyway.
