Description
compatible with or replacement for. This is 12" Blade World War I Historic Kukri, the reproduction of old World War I Kukri. This Kukri is a very famous among Military Knife collectors because of the fact that the very design of this Kukri was carried/used by the Gurkha in hand-to-hand battle in the Jungle of Burma during world War 1st. This Kukri knife played a very significant role in creating the history of the Gurkha's. This Kukri was also great to use for any kind of heavy works. It can be used to chop wood, fire wood, bone, cleaning bushes. The blade is semi-polished. It is broad and more curved then Standard Kukris therefore it is perfect while use. The Handle is flat full tang. Unlike other handle (Not Rat tail), the handle and Blade is a one single piece and visible all around the handle (See pictures). Two Rosewood pieces joint (Attached) strongly to the metal part of handle with three metal rivets and adjust lanyard hole on handle.

I tried to capture the quality of this beauty and beast in the pictures attached. The blade is heavy, straight and sharp. Obviously hand made in the best possible way. The tolerances are very tight. Everything is clean and sharp. I will be able to strop it to a razor edge right out of the box, but that's just my preference. The blade is fully forged, the finish is best described as mill finished. The area just behind the notch is perfectly rounded so your grip can choke up and work tight like with a knife as shown in the picture. The sheath is super light and strong, rawhide and wood as described. The karda and chakmak are nicely done and as shown in the pictures, with more than basic details. As for the overall design look at the traditional WW1 designs. The blade and handle are much more rounded than some modern styles. This design allows for the point of the blade to be straight out in a thrust, and in a chop the blade is positioned just like an axe. This tool is everything I expected. It truly earns 5stars in my book.Edit- I just went through hurricane Irma. This kukri took apart a half of an avocado tree no sweat. I would suggest this is a much better chopping option than a small hatchet, it is better than the wetterlings 19" hunter I have. The reason I say this is that there is no way to miss your cut, and unlike the hathetvthis will slice through smaller branches like a machete instead of getting turned and twisted. The drawback is that if you are using the back to point stakes it will not be as efficient as a hatchet. The next thing I would say is that the tool itself weighs almost exactly what a 28 ounce framing hammer weighs, so go to the hardware store and swing that a few times to see how it feels, the only thing that makes this better is the turn of the handle, it caries so much nicer than a straight handles hammer.
