I have a 12" jStarrett combo. square, and while I know what top quality looks, I didn't have $90+ to drop on a 6" square. So I adjusted my expectations and ordered this one. None the less, after receiving this import combo. square, I iimmediately returned for the following reasons:1. Product did not match either the description, or the photo as it did NOT have 4R graduations, but rather was split Metric on one side and Imperial on the other. I have no use for metric.2. Square did not pass the square test, but was out >1/32" over 6"3. Scriber cap threads on and is glued. So when you unscrew it, the cap comes off and the scriber remains threaded into the hole.4. Photo-etching is very light, though for the money, I expected this.I was hoping that I was shipped the wrong SKU and that they actually had 4R rules in stock, so I requested a replacement be shipped. No joy! I don't think these importers even know what 4R means, but rather just copy and pasted from a Starrett combo. square listing.And... on the second square, the machining on the center finder surfaces left a lot to be desired. (it was fine on the first item)BUT.... the second square was dead on square....As for the timeliness of the delivery, it was stellar. I just got the wrong thing shipped to me twice in a row. I don't know why I even bothered writing up a detailed description of why I returned the first square. Either no one read it, or whoever did had no clue as to what their product description meant. So now I have a dilemma.. live with the metric and fix the scribe by drilling and pinning. Or return it for refund.Edit: Kudos to HHIP, I contacted customer service regarding the inaccuracies and they made it right, 100%. The new tool is on the money, very accurate, precision ground with good fit and finish. Combination, Protractor, Center finder all within spec. I highly recommend this business and product. Wonderful.OLD TOOL:I thought I could get a bargain PEC bu the ends of the blade are not ground square, or accurate with respect to the markings. On one end of the blade one of the markings was ground off, the other you can still see the zero marker. The protractor head has about a degree of inaccuracy not 15 sec degree accuracy claim. Burrs on the track inside the blade cause grinding adjustment. I didn't even test the center finder. The bones of a good tool its cast iron and weight but poor refinement causes it to be unusable for accurate markings.I was fooled by the knock off look of this set and thought it was a much nicer brand. I got the square in and did a quick test and it's out by 1/16". Also, on both ends of the ruler the zero etchings that are supposed to be ground off to ensure proper measurements are still on the blade. This thing is not square, they did send me another one and that was not square either. They told me that's the way they are made and there is nothing they can do about it. Should be a zero star! Both ends of the rule were ground at an angle from 0 to the 1/32 mark. It appeared to be ground by hand. Inserted a spare, known-good Starrett 12" rule and checked all 3 heads against a known-good 6" Starrett square. All 3 heads failed squareness check. Protractor rule was off by about 1/2-degree with no way to adjust except to ovalize holes. Bad knurling on thumb nuts. I bought this at a deep discount thinking that I could harvest some parts for spares but nothing could be used.
