I remember Xcelite tools from when I was a kid in the 60s, and thought it would be great to start using those made-in-the-USA tools again. Unfortunately in this case, Made In USA does not mean high quality. The big screwdriver in this set was apparently taken out of the mold too quickly, and is bent (moderately but distinctly) like a banana. Also there is mold flashing on the handle that will cut your fingers, it needs to be removed with a file or a sharp knife. Finally, the white "Xcelite" logo and part number, are smudged. I purchased a handful of other Xcelite tools at the same time as this set, and many of them have smudged and missing letters in the Xcelite logo. This may seem like a small thing, but it's important to me and should be important to the manufacturer. Cooper Tools has abandoned any semblance of quality control with this brand. In comparison, I have *never* seen even one of these defects in a Craftsman hand tool. I'll give them credit for serious quality control and well-built tools, most of which are still made in the USA.
