I have a 12" jStarrett combo. square, and while I know what top quality looks, I didn't have $90+ to drop on a 6" square. So I adjusted my expectations and ordered this one. None the less, after receiving this import combo. square, I iimmediately returned for the following reasons:1. Product did not match either the description, or the photo as it did NOT have 4R graduations, but rather was split Metric on one side and Imperial on the other. I have no use for metric.2. Square did not pass the square test, but was out >1/32" over 6"3. Scriber cap threads on and is glued. So when you unscrew it, the cap comes off and the scriber remains threaded into the hole.4. Photo-etching is very light, though for the money, I expected this.I was hoping that I was shipped the wrong SKU and that they actually had 4R rules in stock, so I requested a replacement be shipped. No joy! I don't think these importers even know what 4R means, but rather just copy and pasted from a Starrett combo. square listing.And... on the second square, the machining on the center finder surfaces left a lot to be desired. (it was fine on the first item)BUT.... the second square was dead on square....As for the timeliness of the delivery, it was stellar. I just got the wrong thing shipped to me twice in a row. I don't know why I even bothered writing up a detailed description of why I returned the first square. Either no one read it, or whoever did had no clue as to what their product description meant. So now I have a dilemma.. live with the metric and fix the scribe by drilling and pinning. Or return it for refund.
